St. Paul Lutheran’s Crusader Care was starting in 2003 as an after school program giving children of working families a safe place for their children to go after school to work on homework, play with friends and enjoy being kids. As time went on we realized that there was a great need for an extended care program and in August of 2008, we were pleased to open our doors to families needing a before, during and after school program. Our current hours of operation are 6:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Currently we except school aged children who are enrolled in Preschool through 5th Grade. Our before and during school program is only available for children enrolled at St. Paul Lutheran School. However our after school program, which runs from 3:00-6:00 pm, is open to children attending any of the area schools, parochial and public. Busing from those schools is provided through the city. Crusader Care and its staff are dedicated to providing a safe, educational and fun environment for your child(ren). St Paul’s Crusader Care program is accredited semi-annually and is licensed by the State of Ohio Department of Education. It is staffed by qualified adults who have expressed a love for and understanding of young children. All of our staff is certified in CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse. Currently we have 5 adult staff members who work with the children in this program: Jill Grant – Director, Jeannie Repass, Renee Ricketts, Brenda Badenhop, and Karen Oberhaus.
Currently, our rate is $3.00 per hour billed in 15 minute increments with a minimum per day charge of $3.00. We follow the St. Paul Lutheran Schools calendar and are closed on the days the school is closed. For a complete list of closings, please click on the St. Paul Lutheran School Calendar. If you have any questions about our program or would like to have your child(ren) attend, please call the school office at 419-592-5536 Monday through Friday from 7:30 am till 4:00 pm. If you need to call before or after the above school hours, please call 419-592-5536 and dial extension 216. That will transfer your call directly to Crusader Care and you may dial that extension at any time when the answering machine picks up. One of our staff members will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our extended care program.
