Mrs. Barnes was born and raised in Libery Center, Ohio. While in high school she was active in Band, Softball, Cheerleading, Spanish, and Art Club. She went to church and was confirmed from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center. After high school graduation, Aymie attended Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She carried a double major in Elementary Education and Art Education. She did her student teaching at Livingston Developmental Academy, Clague Middle School, and Pleasant Ridge Elementary. Since graduating from college in 2001, Aymie has been a substitute teacher in the Northwest Ohio area, and is active in the Henry County Arts council, where she teaches children's art lessons. She can also be found out at Leader's Family Farms, where she works on weekends in the fall. Aymie is married to Ken Barnes and they reside between Okolona and Jewel where they attend St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida. Although they do not have children, they do have two dogs that are part of the family. Aymie's parents and siblings still live in the Henry County area.
