Mrs. Hammon was born and raised in Archbold.  She attended Elmira Elementary School, and graduated from Archbold High School. She graduated from Columbus Business University in Columbus, Ohio in 1970.  Mrs. Hammon worked as a secretary at the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Archbold and later at the National Bank in Carle Place, New York.  Elaine has been the secretary at St. Paul Lutheran School for 28 years.  She is married to John, one of the 8th grade teachers, and they have two children, Jennifer and Joel.  They also have two grandchilden, Jenna and Madelyn.  Mrs. Hammon spends her free time reading and walking their dog Mandy.
