I was born in Detroit, MI and raised in the metropolitan area.  I attended Peace Lutheran School in Warren, MI until halfway through fifth grade when my family moved to Harper Woods, MI.  I attended Monteith Elementary, Brownell Middle, and Grosse Pointe North High School, where I played basketball, volleyball, and softball.  I spent one year at BGSU and then transferred to Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, after obtaining a spot on their varsity softball team.  I graduated four years later with a B.S. in mathematics.  After working six months as a claims adjuster, I began working for Wayne State Univ. as a Research Assistant in the School of Medicine, taking classes part-time, with the idea of pursuing a career in the medical field.  But, I believe the Lord had other plans.  Upon the birth of my oldest niece, and nephew and niece which followed, and my increased interaction teaching children in Sunday school and VBS programs, I felt a deeper desire to work with children in education.  I was led to Concordia, Ann Arbor where I spent two years completing their Teacher Certification Program and obtained a Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma in May 2003.  I love to learn and see others learn.  I believe we’re never too old to stop learning, because the Lord can continue to mold us throughout our lives.  My interests include gardening, music, and most sports.
