Mrs. Aschemeier is a native of Napoleon and attended St. Paul Lutheran School for the 3rd – 8th grades. Following graduation from Napoleon High School, she attended Concordia, Ann Arbor and graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College, River Forest.
Mrs. Aschemeier taught 4th grade and served as Girls Athletic Director and coach for various sports at Mt. Olive Lutheran School, Houston, Texas from 1975-1977. In 1977 she accepted a call to Zion Lutheran School, Bay City, Michigan. Here she taught 3rd and 4th grades, while also coaching girls volleyball and basketball. Mrs. Aschemeier came to St. Paul Lutheran, Napoleon in 1979. From 1979-1985 she taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, Remedial Reading, and stayed home with children. She has been the Kindergarten teacher here at St. Paul from 1985 to the present, except for one year in 3rd Grade. During her time with us she has coached Girls Volleyball and Cheerleading. She now serves as the United Way Site Coordinator, serves on the Art Council, is the Boxtops for Education Coordinator, and works with the First Fruits Food Pantry.
She and her husband, Bill, have three children - Katie, Karen and Kevin. They have two son-laws, and four grandchildren. Her interests outside of school are walking, biking, traveling, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
