Long Range Planning
Objective:
(From St. Paul's Church Constitution)
The Long
Range Planning Committee shall be a standing committee to study the long range
objectives and goals of the congregation.
The Long Range Planning
Committee shall:
- Focus on the overall
mission of the congregation.
- Continually evaluate the
total program of ministry.
- Recommend to the Parish
Planning Council congregational goals for the next three to five years.
- Recommend to the Parish
Planning Council congregational goals beyond the next five years.
- Consist of a minimum of
twenty (20) members. Each member shall serve on the committee for a
two year term and no member shall be re-appointed for another term.
The committee shall include congregational members currently serving on
Administrative Boards, as well as members-at-large, who shall be appointed
by the President of the congregation with advice from the Pastoral staff and
the Parish Planning Council. The committee shall be divided into two
(2) sets of ten (10) members as listed below. Each set shall include
two (2) members-at-large, and one member from all other areas. Set #1
shall be appointed in odd-numbered years; Set #2 shall be appointed in even
numbered years. Ex-officio members shall be the Administrative Pastor,
the School Principal, and the President of the Congregation.
- Meet a minimum of four
times a year and report its recommendations to the Parish Planning Council
and/or the Congregational Assembly.
- Elect a Chairman and
Secretary. The Chairman shall report to the Parish Planning
Council. The Secretary shall keep a permanent set of minutes of each
meeting and such minutes shall be the property of the congregation. A
copy of the minutes shall also be given to the President of the
congregation.
