    LWML

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League Board serves as an "umbrella" to the five LWML Circles:  Altar Guild, Ladies Guild, Women in the Word, Mission Society, and Sisters in Faith.

The makeup of the board consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Christian Growth Chairman, Mission Service Chairman, and Member Development Chairman.  In addition, each circle is represented by its President and another circle member.  Pastor Marcis serves as pastoral counselor.  The Board meets 3 to 4 times a year at the call of the President.

The Mission Statement of the LWML is "to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world".

The St. Paul LWML unit is connected to the National LWML, the LWML-Ohio District, and the LWML Napoleon Zone.

The St. Paul LWML prayerfully endeavors to serve all confirmed women of our parish.  Opportunities for participation are available especially in Mission service sponsored by the LWML Board (Adopt-a-Confirmand & Student Kits for St. Paul college students).  Each woman is cordially welcomed to participate and attend events sponsored by the circles.  Contact Lou Ann Limbird or the church office for more information.

  • To be custodians of the altar linens and all furnishings of the sanctuary
  • To supervise and care for the clergy and acolyte vestments
  • To prepare the Elements for Holy Communion
  • To foster a better understanding of the liturgical heritages of the Lutheran Church.

        Missionary Society

The Ladies Missionary Society meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Center.  The mission of the society is to assist each member in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.  A Bible study is held four times a year at the regular meetings.

The members of the Missionary Society support the mission work of our church in the following ways:

  • Blankets are made and sent to the Lutheran World Relief
  • Collection of mites for the International LWML projects
  • Contributing food, clothing, and household for the less fortunate
  • Adopting a Seminary student
  • Placing copies of the Lutheran Witness at local nursing homes and the Henry County Hospital
  • Contributing funds to the St. Paul Mission fund.

The ladies of the Missionary Society are committed to a mission of care and compassion for the congregation members and show this in the following ways:

  • The Executive committee serves a funeral lunch when requested by the family of the deceased
  • Make visits to the elderly, sick, shut-in, and nursing homes
  • Members are encouraged to offer transportation to any congregational event for those who may need assistance.

The members of the St. Paul Missionary Society enjoy the fellowship of one another:

  • Visitors and new members are always welcome
  • A Christmas potluck and summer picnic are enjoyed each year
  • All birthdays of members are remembered
  • Refreshments and a social time are enjoyed at each meeting
  • Memorials are given in honor of each member who passes away.
