Special Committees

(From St. Paul's Church Constitution)

    The congregation, through the Congregational Assembly or the Board of Elders, may appoint special committees to serve for a specific assignment or to fill a temporary need; such as, Building, Land Acquisition, Financial Survey, Centennial, Radio, Television, Constitution, Parking, etc.

    The powers and duties delegated to such committees may be withdrawn by the Congregational Assembly according to Article VII, Part C of the Constitution.

    Each committee shall meet as often as necessary to fulfill its responsibilities.

    Each committee shall elect a Chairman and a Secretary.  The Secretary shall keep a permanent set of minutes of each meeting and such minutes shall be the property of the congregation.  A copy of these minutes shall also be given to the President of the congregation.

    Each committee shall present a report of its activities at the meetings of its appointing body.

    When a committee has completed its assigned task, it should present its final report to its appointing body, deliver a complete copy of the minutes to the Secretary of the congregation, and then be excused.
