Vacation Bible School

St. Paul offers a Vacation Bible School program for St. Paul members and community children from ages 3 through Grade 6.  The VBS program is successful year after year with the help of many youth and adult volunteers.  VBS takes place in June and runs for one full week in the morning and is concluded with a closing Friday night program.

We are continually looking for ways to improve and reach out to the community.  Planning for Vacation Bible School starts in January with committee meetings.  The VBS curriculum is set up so that the children will participate in crafts, singing, games, Bible stories, snacks, active learning, enrichment activities, and learning centers.   Along with all of this, each year we designate our daily offerings to go toward a Mission project which will be decided by the Superintendents.

VBS 2005 was held from June 20th to June 24th.  The theme was "Safari Adventure", Jesus is our King.  Due to the large enrollment (175 students) a teaching staff of 25, and helping staff of 54 was used.  Student offerings this year totaled $800 which will be sent to Lutheran World Missions.  This summer four of our congregational members will be traveling to Kenya to assist in VBS and also in the construction of some new churches.  Lutheran World Missions will help provide funds for their trip.  On Friday. a closing service was held in the school gymnasium.  A big thank you to our hard-working DCE Andy Frerich and his staff for helping to make VBS a success.
